Pool Rules and Policies

Club Rules

  • Each member of your family MUST have a picture on file in the swim club website.
  • Members under the age of 13 must be accompanied by an adult 16 year of age or older.
  • Bottles, crockery, glassware, or other hazardous objects shall not be permitted within the pool fence area, pool room, bathhouse facilities, or in the swimming pool or on the deck area. NO GLASS.
  • Any person suspected of being under the influence of drugs shall be prohibited from entering the pool.
  • All animals with the exception of guide dogs for the handicap shall be prohibited within the pool fence, pool room and bathhouse facilities.
  • The club/management is not responsible for any valuables that are brought into the club.
  • The club/management is not responsible for any cars in the parking lot.
  • The speed limit in the parking lot is 10 miles per hour.
  • Parking is permitted only in the designated areas.
  • No Lacrosse sticks, Lacrosse balls, Skate boards, hardball hitting/throwing, or other sports equipment other than Tennis shall be prohibited from entering the pool facilities.
  • The club is a smoke free facility and no smoking or vaping will be permitted anywhere on FGSC property including the parking lot.
  • Approval to use canopies must be sought and granted by the Manager prior usage.
  • In keeping with the charter and bylaws of the Fountain Green Club, Inc., the management reserves the right to revoke admission privileges or remove any member or guest for “conduct unbecoming a Lady or Gentleman.”


Guest Pass Policy

  • Members 12 years of age and younger are allowed to be accompanied at the pool with a guest that is at least 16 years old.
  • Members that are 13 years old and older are allowed to bring guests that are 13 years of age and older.
  • Guest must be accompanied by a member. Guests are not allowed at the facility if the member is not present.
  • The member is responsible for the conduct of their guests and will be held responsible for the guest’s actions.
  • All guests are required to use a guest pass and follow the pool rules and policies. 


Tennis Courts

  • The primary use of the tennis courts is for TENNIS ONLY. A member wanting to play tennis has priority over any not tennis activity on the courts.
  • No skateboarding
  • No Rollerblading or roller skating
  • Please be courteous to other members and share court times. There will be no time restrictions on length of tennis matches.
  • Please do not damage equipment. (ie: No SITTING on net or other activity that will cause damage to the courts.
  • Please CLEAN UP any items brought with you and do not LITTER the courts (ie: tennis balls, empty sports drinks, cans, empty tennis ball cans, etc.)

Pool Rules

  • No one is allowed in the water unless a lifeguard is present.
  • Only official lifesaving swimming devices (Coast Guard approved) will be allowed in the main pool for children that cannot swim.  Management must approve these devices. Any child wearing a coast guard approved life vest must be accompanied by an adult at all times while in the pool within one arm’s length.
  • All children not potty trained must wear rubber swim diapers in the main pool and baby pool.
  • The baby pool is strictly for children 6 years and under.
  • Lap swimming is available during non-peak times upon request and manager approval.
  • No eating or drinking in pool. No eating or drinking within 3 1/2 feet of pool side.
  • No diving is permitted off the deck into the shallow areas of the pool.
  • No running or boisterous or rough play, except supervised water sports, is permitted in the pool, in the dressing rooms or shower rooms, on runways, on the diving boards or platforms.
  • All persons having or reasonably suspected to have any considerable area of exposed sub-epidermal tissue, cuts or known or recognizable contagious or communicable diseases, cough, cold, open sores, blisters, bandaged wound, fever, inflammation of the eyes, nasal or ear discharges, shall not be allowed to enter the pool water.
  • Spitting, urinating, blowing of the nose, spouting of water or depositing foreign matter in the pool is strictly prohibited.
  • No person shall bring or throw into the pool, or its floors, walkways, aisles or dressing rooms, any object that may in any way carry contamination or endanger the safety of any bather.
  • Any person suspected of being under the influence of drugs shall be prohibited from entering the pool.
  • All animals with the exception of guide dogs for the handicapped shall be prohibited within the pool fence, pool room and bathhouse facilities.
  • Use of pool is strictly prohibited during an electrical storm (IF electrical storm becomes bad enough, the management has the right to ask everyone to leave pool facility until storm has passed).
  • If Harford County Emergency Manager calls to report severe weather, all pool activities will be suspended and the pool will close for the duration of the alert.
  • No person shall throw another person into pool.
  • Pool toys and super soakers – Management/Lifeguards reserve the right to remove toys and super soakers from the pool area for actions that are deemed inappropriate/unsafe or if they are not being used in the best interest of the members/guest of FGSC.
  • Pool water balls – only water balls made from soft cloth are permitted in the pool. Management/Lifeguards reserve the right to remove water balls from the pool area for actions that are deemed inappropriate/unsafe or if they are not being used in the best interest of the members/guests of FGSC.
  • The only flotation devices permissible are those securely worn by swimmers. “Noodle Nights” are an exception to this rule.
  • No loitering in showers.
  • All bathers must remove any sand, dirt, grass, mulch, etc. from their bodies before entering the pool (Showers are available).

Diving Well Rules:

  • One person at a time on the diving board.
  • Must be able to swim UNASSISTED to ladder, to go off the diving board.
  • No diving unless the swimmer in front of you is on the ladder or out of the pool.
  • No going off the diving board backwards.
  • No one weighing over 250 pounds may use the diving board due to the manufacturer’s safety restrictions.
  • A diver should take one bounce and go straight off the end of the board.
  • Parents are not allowed to catch their children in the diving well.

FGSC staff reserves the right to modify/adapt diving well rules at any time.
